Who can apply

Kerala PSC recruitment notification for the post of Seaman in Hydrographic Survey Wing (Port Department). Category No: 328/2019. Vacancies: District wise: Kannur – 03 (Three). Scale of Pay: ₹ 17500-39500/-. Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment. Applications must be submitted online on or before 15-01-2020 through Kerala PSC One Time Registration.

Age limit

18-36. Only Candidates born between 02.01.1983 and 01.01.2001 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. (Usual age relaxation will be given to SC/ST & Other Backward Communities). Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Must have studied up to Standard VIII. Technical Qualifications: • Must have proficiency in Boat pulling, knots & Splices and rigging, handling single cylinder motor boats, anchor work and swimming. The proficiency in the above items of work will be assessed in a practical test conducted by the PSC at the time of selection. Experience Required: Not specified Physical Standards: General: Height - Not less than 165 cms (without shoes/boots), Weight - Not less than 50 kgs, Chest - Not less than 80 cms normal and 85 cms on expansion. SC/ST: Height - Not less than 160 cms (without shoes/boots), Weight - Not less than 48 kgs, Chest - Not less than 78 cms normal and 83 cms on expansion. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part II Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable. Candidates claiming equivalent qualification should produce relevant Government Orders during OTR verification.
General conditions from the notification
Selection is on a Revenue District basis. Candidates already in Government Service holding the same post in the same department in any one district are prohibited from applying. Candidates must submit confirmation for writing the examination if a test is conducted. Aadhar Card should be added as ID proof in the profile.
