Kerala PSC recruitment notification for the post of Fireman Driver-cum-Pump-Operator (Trainee) in Fire and Rescue Services. Category No: 42-44/2018. Vacancies: Scheduled Tribe: 7, Viswakarma: 3, Other Christians: 4. Scale of Pay: 20,000 – 45,800. Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment (from among candidates belonging to the above mentioned reservation communities only). Applications must be submitted online on or before 13-06-2018 through Kerala PSC One Time Registration.

Age limit

18-29 (born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2000) for Viswakarma and Other Christians. 18-31 (born between 02.01.1987 and 01.01.2000) for ST and Other Christians who have converted to Christianity from SC communities after attaining eighteen years and children of such parents. Women and physically handicapped persons are not eligible. Check your age for this post with your date of birth and category

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Must have passed Plus two or its equivalent examination. • Must have passed SSLC or its equivalent examination (only in the absence of eligible candidates with Plus two). Technical Qualifications: • Must possess valid current Motor Driving Licence with endorsement for driving heavy goods vehicle or heavy passenger vehicle with badge. Experience Required: None specified, but Home Guard Volunteers with 3 years tenure and Fire Fighting training are given preference. Physical Standards: Height: 165 cms (Viswakarma/OX) or 160 cms (ST); Weight: 50 kgs (Viswakarma/OX) or 48 kgs (ST); Chest: 81 cms (Viswakarma/OX) or 76 cms (ST) with 5 cms expansion. Vision: 6/6 Snellen (Distant), 0.5 Snellen (Near), Full Field of Vision. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) ii is applicable.

General conditions from the notification

Candidates must undergo 4 months training and pass examination. Probation period of 2 years on duty within 3 years. Compulsory 5-year service bond of Rs 2,700/-. Physical efficiency test required (qualify 5 out of 8 items).
