Who can apply

Kerala PSC recruitment notification for the post of Driver Gr.II (HDV) (Ex-servicemen only) in NCC/Sainik Welfare. Category No: 125/2026. Vacancies: District wise: Ernakulam - 01 (One) (3rd NCA). Scale of Pay: ₹ 25,100-57,900/-. Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment (From Ex-servicemen candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribe reservation community only). Applications must be submitted online on or before 02-09-2026 through Kerala PSC One Time Registration.

Age limit

21-48. Candidates born between 02.01.1978 and 01.01.2005 (both dates included) are eligible to apply, subject to the condition that the maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 years of age. Check your age for this post with your date of birth and category

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Literacy in Malayalam, Tamil or Kannada. Technical Qualifications: • Must possess Motor Driving License with endorsement for driving Heavy Duty Vehicles and Motor Cycle. • Driving Licence issued after 16.01.1979 must have endorsement both for Heavy Goods and Heavy Passenger Vehicles. • Proficiency in driving Heavy Duty Vehicles will have to be proved through a practical test including 'T' Test and Road Test conducted by P.S.C. Experience Required: Three years experience in driving heavy vehicles either Military or Civil. Physical Standards: Hearing should be perfect. Distant vision: 6/6 Snellen (Right & Left), Near vision: 0.5 Snellen (Right & Left), Normal Colour Vision, No night blindness. No paralysis and all joints must be capable of free movements. Nervous system perfectly normal and free from infectious diseases. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable. Qualifications recognized by executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent to a qualification specified for a post, in the Special Rules and such of those qualifications which pre-suppose the acquisition of the lower qualification prescribed for the post, shall also be sufficient.

General conditions from the notification
Candidates must be Ex-Servicemen/Disembodied Territorial Army personnel. Probation period is 2 years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years. Differently abled candidates are not eligible. Candidates must be prepared to clean and oil the Motor Vehicles. Selected candidates must be able to drive Light Duty Vehicles also.
