Age limit

20-40. Candidates should have been born between 02.01.1981 and 01.01.2001 (both dates included). Usual relaxations to Backward Classes, SC/ST categories. For Ministerial staff in the General Education Department, the upper age limit is relaxed up to 43 years [GO(P) No. 36/2005/Gl.Edn. Dated 04.02.2005]. Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Master's Degree in the concerned subject with not less than 50% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala as equivalent thereto. • Degree in B.Ed. in the concerned subject acquired through a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by a University in Kerala. • In the absence of persons with B.Ed. Degree in the concerned subject, B.Ed. Degree acquired in the concerned faculty as specified in the Acts and Statutes of any of the Universities in Kerala. • In the absence of persons with B.Ed. Degree specified in items (1) and (2) above, Persons who have acquired B.Ed. Degree in any subject through regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by any of the Universities in Kerala or M.Sc.Ed. with not less than 50% marks in the concerned subject from any of the Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT). Technical Qualifications: • Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Higher Secondary School Teacher conducted by the Government of Kerala or by any agency authorized by the Government of Kerala. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part II Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable. Equivalency of degrees/qualifications must be proven with relevant government orders / certificates at the time of certificate verification.
