Who can apply

Kerala PSC recruitment notification for the post of Tug Driver in Port. Category No: 65/2014. Vacancies: District wise: Thiruvananthapuram – 01 (One), Kozhikode – 01 (One). Scale of Pay: Rs. 11620 – 20240/-. Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment. Applications must be submitted online on or before 14-05-2014 through Kerala PSC One Time Registration.

Age limit

19 – 44. Only candidates born between 02.01.1970 and 01.01.1995 (both dates included) are only eligible to apply for the post. Other backward communities and SC/ST Candidates are eligible for usual relaxation. Maximum age limit relaxed for ex-servicemen upto 5 years. Maximum age limit shall in no case exceed 50 years. Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Must be able to read and write English. Technical Qualifications: • Must possess a certificate of competency as Engine Driver granted under the minor ports Harbour Craft Rules • OR Driving License under the Travancore public canals and public ferries Act • OR Such other certificate of competency as Engine Drivers recognised by the Government Experience Required: Must have Two Years experience in handling Marine Diesel Engine Physical Standards: Distant Vision: Right Eye V. 6/6, Left Eye V. 6/6. Near Vision: Right Eye Read 0.6 (or 0.5 snellen as per medical form), Left Eye Read 0.6 (or 0.5 snellen). Each eye must have full field of vision. Squint or any morbid condition of the eyes or eyelids (eg. Trachoma) shall be deemed to be a disqualification. Colour blindness and Night blindness check required. PH candidates are not eligible to apply.

Every person appointed to the category from the date on which he joins duty, be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years. Selection on Revenue District basis subject to G.O. (MS) No. 154/71/PD dated 27.05.1971.
