Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Must be able to read and write English Technical Qualifications: • Must possess a certificate of competency as Engine Driver granted under the minor ports Harbour Craft Rules • OR Driving License under the Travancore public canals and public ferries Act • OR Such other certificate of competency as Engine Drivers recognised by the Government Experience Required: Must have Two Years experience in handling Marine Diesel Engine Physical Standards: Distant Vision: 6/6 snellen (Right & Left), Near Vision: 0.6 snellen (Right & Left). Each eye must have full field of vision. Squint or any morbid condition of the eyes or eyelids (eg. Trachoma) shall be deemed to be a disqualification. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Not specified

Every person appointed to the category shall be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years. Selection is on a Revenue District basis subject to G.O. (MS) No. 154/71/PD dated 27.05.1971.
