18-26. Candidates born between 2.1.1989 and 1.1.1997 (both dates included) only are eligible to apply for this post. Upper age limit relaxed for OBC (born on or after 2.1.1986), SC/ST (born on or after 2.1.1984), and Ex-servicemen (born on or after 2.01.1974). Women and differently abled persons are not eligible.

Educational Qualifications: • Pass in S.S.L.C examination or its equivalent Physical Standards: Height: Minimum 167 cms (160 cms for SC/ST). Chest: Minimum 81 cms with minimum expansion of 5 cms (76 cms with 5 cms expansion for SC/ST). Eye Sight: Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen (Right & Left), Near Vision 0.5 Snellen (Right & Left) without glasses. Must be free from apparent physical defects like knock-knee, flat foot, varicose vein, bow legs, deformed limbs, irregular/protesting tooth, defective speech and hearing. Must qualify in any five events out of eight in the National Physical Efficiency One Star Standard Test. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10 (a) (ii) of Part II of the KS&SSR is applicable.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
