Educational Qualifications: • Pass in SSLC or its equivalent Experience Required: None Physical Standards: Height: 167 cms; Chest: 81 cms with a minimum expansion of 5 cms. Must be physically fit and free from apparent physical defects like knock-knee, flat foot, varicose veins, bow legs, deformed limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing. Visual Standards: Distant vision 6/6 Snellen (Right/Left), Near vision 0.5 Snellen (Right/Left). Each eye must have full field of vision. Colour Blindness, Squint or any morbid conditions of the eyes or lids of either eye shall be a disqualification. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) Part II of KS&SSR is applicable. Candidates who claim equivalent qualification must produce the relevant government order to prove the equivalency at the time of verification.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
