Educational Qualifications: • Degree in Arabic conferred or recognized by the Universities in Kerala. • A Title of Oriental Learning in Arabic awarded or recognized by the Universities in Kerala. • Pre-Degree with Part III Arabic (Special Optional) of the University of Calicut. • Plus Two Part III Arabic (Optional) Course of the Higher Secondary Board, Kerala. • SSLC passed with Arabic as First Language (First Paper and Second Paper) parts I and II out-given by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala. • SSLC or equivalent examination, AND any of the following additional qualifications: Technical Qualifications: • Arabic Munshi Examination (Higher) conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala. • Arabic Munshi Examination (Lower) conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala. • Arabic Teachers Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Government Examinations, Kerala. • Entrance Examination for Arabic conducted by the Universities of Kerala or Calicut. • KTET Category IV passed. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part II Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable. Government Orders regarding equivalent qualifications shall be produced at the time of verification.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
