Educational Qualifications: • S.S.L.C. or its equivalent • Diploma in Civil Engineering (2 years course) of Women's Polytechnic or any other qualification recognised by Government as equivalent thereto. • Pass in V.H.S.E. Draftsmanship in Building Technology or Quantity Surveying and Surveying. Technical Qualifications: • Group Certificate under K.G.T.E or M.G.T.E (Group Certificate will include all the four groups viz., Building Drawing, Building Construction, Survey and Irrigation.) • Pass in the following eight subjects under K.G.T.E/M.G.T.E. viz. (1) Surveying and Levelling (Higher) (2) Applied Mechanics (Higher) (3) Building Materials and Construction (Higher/Lower) (4) Hydraulics and Irrigation (Higher) (5) Building Drawing and Estimating (Higher) (6) Earthwork and Road making (Higher) (7) Geometrical Drawing (Lower) (8) Mensuration (Lower) • National Apprenticeship Certificate (Surveyor) • National Apprenticeship Certificate (Civil) • National Trade Certificate (Surveyor) • National Trade Certificate (Draftsman Civil) • State Trade Certificate (Surveyor) • State Trade Certificate (Draftsman Civil) Physical Standards: 3% of the vacancies for the post shall be reserved for differently abled candidates with Locomotor disability/Cerebral palsy, Hearing impairment. Differently abled Candidates with Low Vison/Blind are not identified suitable for this post. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
