Educational Qualifications: • Must have passed the Plus Two examination or its equivalent. Physical Standards: Height: Must not be less than 165 cms (160 cms for SC/ST candidates). Chest: 81 cms round the chest with a minimum expansion of 5 cms (76 cms with 5 cms expansion for SC/ST). Must possess specified visual standards without glasses (Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen for both eyes, Near Vision 0.5 Snellen for both eyes, full field of vision, no colour blindness, squint, or morbid conditions). Must be free from apparent physical defects like knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein, bow legs, deformed hands and limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing. Must qualify in Endurance Test (2.5 kilometers race within 13 minutes) and any five events out of eight events specified in the National Physical Efficiency Test (One Star Standard Test). Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II KS & SSR is applicable. Candidates who have applied with equivalent qualification instead of qualification mentioned in the notification, should produce the relevant Government order to prove their qualifications equivalency at the time verification.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
