Educational Qualifications: • Must have passed the Plus Two examination or its equivalent. Physical Standards: Must not be less than 165 cms in height and 81 cms round the chest with a minimum expansion of 5 cms. Physique and Eyesight: Certified by a Medical Officer for physical fitness and capacity for active outdoor work. Visual standards without glasses: Distant Vision (Right: 6/6 Snellen, Left: 6/6 Snellen), Near Vision (Right: 0.5 Snellen, Left: 0.5 Snellen). Full field of vision, no colour blindness, squint, or morbid conditions. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS & SSR Part II Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable. Candidates with equivalent qualifications must produce the relevant Government order.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
