Educational Qualifications: • Pass in Plus Two Examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Government of Kerala or equivalent examination recognised by Government of India or Government of Kerala. Experience Required: None Physical Standards: Male: Height minimum 168 cm (SC/ST 160 cm), Chest minimum 81 cm with 5 cm expansion. Female: Height minimum 157 cm (SC/ST 150 cm). Both must pass Physical Efficiency Test and Endurance Test (2 km run in 13 mins for males, 15 mins for females). Medical standards: Perfect hearing, specific vision standards without glass, no paralysis, no infectious diseases, no physical defects like knock-knee, flat foot, etc. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of KS & SSR is applicable.

How the age check works

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.

With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

For a 2025 post with the range 18–36 (born 02.01.1989 – 01.01.2007).

What the checker does not decide

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
