18-36. Candidates born between 02.01.1986 and 01.01.2004 (both dates included) are eligible. Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC and other backward communities as per rules. For By Transfer recruitment, age limit is not applicable.

Educational Qualifications: • SSLC or equivalent qualification Technical Qualifications: • Proficiency in reading and writing Malayalam, Tamil, or Kannada Experience Required: Must be a retired Junior Commissioned Officer in the Army, Navy, or Air Force, or hold an equivalent rank. In the absence of such candidates, must have 10 years of military service in the Army, Navy, or Air Force. In the absence of both, must have 10 years of service in the State Police or 6 months of training in the Military. Physical Standards: Height: 167 cm. Chest: 81 cm with a minimum expansion of 5 cm. (Relaxation for SC/ST: Height 160 cm, Chest 76 cm with 5 cm expansion). Vision: 6/6 Snellen for distant vision and 0.5 Snellen for near vision for both eyes. Must be free from physical defects like knock-knee, flat foot, varicose veins, bow legs, deformed limbs, irregular/protruding teeth, and defective speech/hearing. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict.
