Educational Qualifications: • Post Graduate Degree in the concerned subject or related field with not less than 50% marks or equivalent qualification. • M.Ed degree with not less than 55% marks. • Must have passed the Comprehensive Test conducted by UGC or any agency specially constituted by the State Government for this purpose. • For Physical Science: M.Sc degree in Physics or Chemistry and M.Ed with specialization in Methods of Teaching Physical Science. Technical Qualifications: • Preference will be given to candidates having adequate knowledge of Malayalam language. Experience Required: Three years of teaching experience in schools or colleges after acquiring professional qualifications. Physical Standards: Not applicable Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part II Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable. Non-qualifying degrees like Ph.D/M.Phil/Post Doctoral Fellowship will be awarded additional marks for ranking.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
