19-36. Only candidates born between 02-01-1977 and 01-01-1994 (both dates included) are eligible. Usual age relaxation for SC/ST and Other Backward Communities applies, subject to a maximum age limit of 50 years.

Educational Qualifications: • Must have passed the plus two examination or its equivalent. Experience Required: Not applicable Physical Standards: Must not be less than 165 cms in height and 81 cms round the chest with a minimum expansion of 5 cms. For SC/ST candidates, minimum height is 160 cms and minimum chest measurement is 76 cms with a minimum expansion of 5 cms. Must be certified by a Medical Officer not below the rank of an Assistant Surgeon as to physical fitness and capacity for active outdoor work. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Plus two examination or its equivalent.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
