23-45. Candidates must have been born between 02.01.1977 and 01.01.1999 (both dates included). In the absence of qualified candidates within the age limit, the upper age limit is relaxed up to 50 years. In no case shall the age exceed 50 years.

Educational Qualifications: • Master's Degree in Chemistry with not less than 45% marks from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by a University in Kerala. • Regular B.Ed. Degree in the concerned subject acquired from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by a University in Kerala. • In the absence of B.Ed. Degree holders in the concerned subject, B.Ed. Degree acquired in the concerned Faculty from any of the Universities in Kerala. Technical Qualifications: • Must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Non-Vocational Teacher conducted by the Government of Kerala or by the Agency authorized by the Government. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part II Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable. Equivalency of degrees/qualifications will be decided based on Government orders and Commission decisions.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
