18-36. Only candidates born between 02.01.1986 and 01.01.2004 (both dates included) are eligible. Usual age relaxations apply to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Communities. In no case, the upper age limit shall exceed 50 (Fifty) years.

Educational Qualifications: • Degree in Science with Physics as one of the subjects conferred or recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala. • OR Degree in B.Tech conferred or recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala. • OR Diploma in Engineering after 3 years regular course with 3 years experience in a Government/ Quasi Government/ Registered Private Industrial concern in the same field after acquiring the basic qualification of Engineering Diploma. Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
