Educational Qualifications: • SSLC or its equivalent examination recognized by Government of India or Government of Kerala. Technical Qualifications: • All candidates must have a valid Motor Driving License endorsed for all types of transport vehicles (LMV, HGMV & HPMV) and experience for not less than 3 years in driving motor vehicles. Experience Required: Experience for not less than 3 years in driving motor vehicles, acquired after obtaining academic or other basic qualifications. Physical Standards: Height: Must not be less than 168 cms (160 cms for SC/ST candidates). Chest: Minimum of 81 cms with a minimum expansion of 5 cms (no chest expansion relaxation for SC/ST). Must qualify in 5 out of 8 events in the National Physical Efficiency one star standard test. Must possess prescribed medical standards including perfect hearing, vision standards (Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision 0.5 Snellen without glasses for both eyes, normal colour vision, nil night blindness), and be free from physical defects, deformities, and paralysis. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II KS & SSR is applicable.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
