Educational Qualifications: • Must have passed SSLC or equivalent qualification. Technical Qualifications: • Must possess current valid Driving Licence of light duty vehicles with Driver's Badge and of at least 3 years period of validity. • Proficiency in driving Light Motor Vehicles which is to be proved through a practical test including 'H' test conducted by the KPSC. Those who pass 'H' test alone will be allowed to participate in road test. Experience Required: At least 3 years period of validity of driving licence for light duty vehicles with driver's badge. Physical Standards: Ear: Hearing should be sound. Eye: Right Eye (Distant Vision: 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision: 0.5 Snellen), Left Eye (Distant Vision: 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision: 0.5 Snellen). Colour vision: Normal. Night blindness: Should be nil. Muscles and joints: No paralysis and all joints with free movements. Nervous system: Perfectly normal and free from any infectious diseases. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) ii is applicable. Government Order regarding equivalency of qualification should be produced at the time of certificate verification.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
