Educational Qualifications: • Must possess B.A, B.Sc or B.Com Degree of any recognized University or its equivalent. • In the case of Ex-Servicemen, the minimum qualification shall be SSLC. Experience Required: From approved Probationers in any of the categories of Assistant Excise Inspector, Excise Preventive Officer, Civil Excise Officer/Women Civil Excise Officer. Physical Standards: Must be Physically Fit for strenuous outdoor work and possess minimum physical standards (Male: Height 165 cm, 160 cm for SC; Chest 81 cm normal with 5 cm expansion. Female: Height 152 cm, 150 cm for SC). Visual standards without glasses: Right Eye (Distant: 6/6 snellen, Near: 0.5 snellen), Left Eye (Distant: 6/6 snellen, Near: 0.5 snellen). Full field of vision required. Free from colour blindness, squint, knock-knee, flat feet, varicose veins, bow legs, deformed limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part-II Rule 10 (a) (ii) is applicable.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
