21-39. Candidates born between 02.01.1984 and 01.01.2002 (both dates included) are eligible. Usual age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates applies as per Part II of the Gazette notification.

Certificate must be in the prescribed format. Physical Standards: Must have perfect hearing. Vision standards: Distant vision 6/6 Snellen, Near vision 0.5 Snellen for both eyes. Must have full field of vision. No colour blindness, squint, or morbid conditions of eyes. Must be free from physical deformities like paralysis or joint issues. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
