Educational Qualifications: • Must have passed SSLC or equivalent examination. • In the absence of SSLC holders, failed SSLC holders will be considered. • If sufficient qualified candidates are not available, educational qualification will be relaxed down to 8th standard. Physical Standards: Height: Minimum 160 cm (5 cm relaxation in height if sufficient candidates are not available). Chest: Minimum 76 cm with minimum 5 cm expansion (72 cm with 5 cm expansion for relaxation, provided 5 cm difference is maintained). Vision: Standard of vision without glasses (Right Eye: Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision 0.5 Snellen; Left Eye: Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision 0.5 Snellen; free from colour blindness, squint, or morbid conditions). Physical Efficiency Test: Must qualify in any 3 events out of 8 in the National Physical Efficiency Test (1-star standard). Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
