Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Must have passed the Plus Two Examination or its equivalent. Experience Required: Not applicable Physical Standards: Candidates must not be less than 165 cms in height and 81cms round the chest with a minimum expansion of 5 cms. Must be certified by a Medical Officer not below the rank of an Assistant Surgeon/Junior Consultant as to physical fitness and capacity for active outdoor work. Must possess specified visual standards (Distant Vision: 6/6 Snellen for both eyes; Near Vision: 0.5 Snellen for both eyes). Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable.

General conditions from the notification
Selection is on a revenue district basis. Candidates must undergo basic training for not less than six months (minimum 180 working days). Candidates must qualify in an Endurance Test (2.5 km race within 13 minutes) and a Physical Efficiency Test (qualify in 5 out of 8 events).
