Kerala PSC recruitment notification for the post of Station Officer (Trainee) in Fire and Rescue Services. Category No: 552/2014. Vacancies: 14. Scale of Pay: 16,180-29,180/-. Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment. Applications must be submitted online on or before 28-01-2015 through Kerala PSC One Time Registration.

Age limit

20-31. Candidates born between 2.1.1983 and 1.1.1994 (both dates included) only eligible to apply. Other Backward Communities and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation. In the case of Clerks of Fire Force Department the upper age limit for appointment as Station Officer by direct recruitment shall be 39 years. Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Graduation in Science from a recognized University preferably in Chemistry. Technical Qualifications: • Preferential: A good record in Sports and/or Games. Experience Required: None Physical Standards: Height: 165 cms (General), 160 cms (SC/ST). Weight: 50 kgs (General), 48 kgs (SC/ST). Chest: 81 cms (General), 76 cms (SC/ST) with 5 cms expansion. Vision: Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen (both eyes), Near Vision 0.5 Snellen (both eyes), Field of Vision Full. Must qualify in at least 5 out of 8 items in physical efficiency test. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) ii is applicable.
General conditions from the notification
Candidates must execute a bond to serve for 7 years or pay Rs 8000/-. Probation period is two years on duty within a continuous period of three years. Must pass departmental tests (Kerala Fire Force Standing Orders and Practice, St.John's Ambulance First Aid, Account Test Lower) and undergo initial training.
