Kerala PSC recruitment notification for the post of Fire and Rescue officer (Trainee) (Special Recruitment from SC/ST) in Fire and Rescue Services. Category No: 471/2025. Vacancies: SC/ST- 2 (Two). Scale of Pay: ₹ 27,900 – 63,700 /-. Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment (Special Recruitment from among Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes). Applications must be submitted online on or before 31-12-2025 through Kerala PSC One Time Registration.

Age limit

18 – 31. Only Candidates born between 02.01.1994 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included) are eligible to apply. No other age relaxation will be allowed. Check your age for this post with your date of birth and category

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Pass in Plus two or its equivalent Technical Qualifications: • Diploma in Computer Application (Preferential) Experience Required: Not applicable Physical Standards: Height: 160 cm, Chest: 76 cm, Chest expansion: 5 cm, Weight: 48 kg. Must have proficiency in swimming (50m trial within 2 minutes and 2 minutes floating ability). Must possess specified visual standards without glasses (Distant Vision: 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision: 0.5 Snellen, Field of Vision: Full). Must be physically fit for arduous outdoor work. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS & SSR Part II Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable. Qualifications recognized by executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent to a qualification specified for a post, or found acceptable by the Commission, shall be sufficient.

General conditions from the notification
Candidates must be SC/ST. Women and differently abled candidates are not eligible. Candidates must execute a bond to serve for 7 years. Probation period is 2 years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years. Training includes 6 months at State Fire Service Training School and 6 months practical training at a Fire Station.
