Kerala PSC recruitment notification for the post of Sergeant (Part I-Direct Recruitment & Part II Recruitment by Transfer) in Various. Category No: 289/2024 – 290/2024. Vacancies: District-wise: Kottayam (02), Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kozhikode (Anticipated Vacancies). Scale of Pay: ₹ 31,100-66,800/-. Age limit

Direct Recruitment: 18-36. Only candidates born between 02.01.1988 and 01.01.2006 (both dates included) are eligible. Usual age relaxation for OBC, SC/ST, and Ex-Servicemen applies. Recruitment By Transfer: Not applicable. Check your age for this post with your date of birth and category

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Must be a pensioned Junior Commissioned Officer of the Army or equivalent in the Navy or Air Force. • In the absence of candidates with the above, candidates with literacy in English and ten years Military Service in the Army, Navy or Air Force. • In the absence of qualified hands under the above, SSLC or equivalent with ten years service in the Police Force under the State Government or six months Military Training. Technical Qualifications: • A working knowledge in Malayalam, or Tamil or Kannada shall be an essential qualification. Experience Required: Ten years Military Service in the Army, Navy or Air Force OR ten years service in the Police Force under the State Government OR six months Military Training (as per qualification criteria). Physical Standards: Height: 167 cms (160 cms for SC/ST). Chest: 81 cms with 5 cms expansion (76 cms with 5 cms expansion for SC/ST). Vision: Distant 6/6 Snellen, Near 0.5 Snellen for both eyes. Must be free from physical defects like knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, bow legs, deformed limbs, irregular/protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS&SSR is applicable. Qualifications recognized by executive/standing orders as equivalent to those specified in the notification are sufficient.
