Who can apply

Kerala PSC recruitment notification for the post of Beat Forest Officer in Forest and Wildlife. Category No: 212/2025 – 214/2025. Vacancies: District wise (Anticipated Vacancy). Scale of Pay: ₹ 27,900- 63,700/-. Method of Appointment: Recruitment by transfer (District-wise). Applications must be submitted online on or before 03-09-2025 through Kerala PSC One Time Registration.

Age limit

No person shall be eligible for appointment by transfer to the post of Beat Forest Officer, if he/she has completed 40 years of age on the first January of the year in which applications for the appointment (ie.01.01.2025) are invited, with usual relaxation of age limit for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Communities as provided in the rule 10(c), of Part II of KS&SSR, 1958. Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Pass in Plus Two Examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Government of Kerala or equivalent examination recognized by Government of India or Government of Kerala. • Basic academic qualification shall be SSLC or equivalent examination in the case of applicants who were in service before 30.08.2010 Physical Standards: Male: Height - minimum 168 cms (160 cm for SC/ST), Chest - minimum 81 cms with 5 cms expansion (5 cm expansion applicable for SC/ST). Female: Height - minimum 157 cms (150 cm for SC/ST). Must qualify in Physical Efficiency Test and Endurance Test (2 Kilometers run in 13 minutes for males, 15 minutes for females). Medical standards including perfect hearing, visual standards (Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision 0.5 Snellen without glass for both eyes, normal colour vision, no night blindness), free from paralysis, normal nervous system, and free from physical defects like knock-knee, flat foot, varicose vein, bow legs, etc. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II KS & SSR is applicable. Qualifications recognized by Executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent shall be produced as and when called for.
General conditions from the notification
The selection will be made on a revenue district basis, subject to special conditions laid down in G.O (Ms) No. 154/71/PD dated 27.05.1971. Candidates appointed shall undergo training for one year and probation for 2 years on duty within a continuous service of 3 years. Quota reserved for appointment by transfer shall be 10% of the cadre strength.
