Who can apply

Kerala PSC recruitment notification for the post of Fireman Driver cum Pump Operator in Fire and Rescue Services. Category No: 179/2013 to 182/2013. Vacancies: Scheduled Caste-3, Scheduled Tribe-3, Viswakarma-6, Other Christians-4. Scale of Pay: 3050-5230 (PR). Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment (from among candidates of the above mentioned reservation Communities only). Applications must be submitted online on or before 31-07-2013 through Kerala PSC One Time Registration.

Age limit

1) 18-29. Only candidates born between 02.01.1984 and 01.01.1995 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post in the case of Viswakarma and OX. 2) 18-31. Only candidates born between 02.01.1982 and 01.01.1995 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post in the case of SC/ST and also OX candidates who have converted to Christianity from SC communities after attaining eighteen years and children of such parents. Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Must have passed S.S.L.C or equivalent examination Technical Qualifications: • Must possess current Motor Driving Licence with endorsement for driving heavy goods vehicle or heavy passenger vehicle. Physical Standards: For Other than SC/ST Candidates: Height 165 cms, Weight 50 kg, Chest 81 cms, Chest Expansion 5 cms. For SC/ST Candidates: Height 160 cms, Weight 48 kg, Chest 76 cms, Chest Expansion 5 cms. Standards of Vision (without Glasses): Distant Vision 6/6 snellen, Near Vision 0.5 snellen, Field of Vision Full for both eyes. Physical Efficiency Test: Candidates must qualify in at least 5 out of 8 items.

General conditions from the notification
Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which he joins duty after he completes the training and examination will be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years. Selected candidates should undergo a course of training for a period of 4 months in the State Fire Service Training School, and pass the examination. Every person appointed shall compulsorily serve in the Department for 5 years after completion of training and execute a bond for Rs.2700.
