Who can apply

Kerala PSC recruitment notification for the post of Assistant Prison Officer (Special Recruitment from SC/ST only) in Prisons. Category No: 166/2022. Vacancies: 07 (Seven). Scale of Pay: 27900-63700/-. Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment (Special Recruitment from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) of Kerala State only). Applications must be submitted online on or before 22-06-2022 through Kerala PSC One Time Registration.

Age limit

18 - 41. Only candidates born between 02.01.1981 and 01.01.2004 (both dates included) are eligible to apply. (Relaxation up to 50 years of age for qualified candidates in the absence of candidates within the age limit, but in no case shall exceed 50 years). Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Must have passed SSLC or its equivalent qualification. Physical Standards: 1) Physical Measurements: Height - 160 cm, Chest - 81.3 cm with a minimum expansion of 5 cm. 2) Eye Sight: Must possess the visual standards specified without glasses (Distant Vision: Right Eye 6/6 Snellen, Left Eye 6/6 Snellen; Near Vision: Right Eye 0.5 Snellen, Left Eye 0.5 Snellen; Full field of vision for each eye. Colour blindness, squint, or any morbid conditions of the eye/lids are disqualifications). 3) Physical Efficiency Test: Must qualify in at least 5 events out of the 8 events in the National Physical Efficiency Test (One Star standard). - 100 Metres Run: 14 Seconds - High Jump: 132.20 cm (4' 6") - Long Jump: 457.20 cm (15') - Shot Put (7264 gm): 609.60 cm (20') - Cricket Ball Throw: 6096 cm (200') - Rope Climbing (Using hands only): 365.80 cm (12') - Pull up or Chinning: 8 times - 1500 Metres Run: 5 Minutes 44 Seconds Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part II Rule 10(a)ii is applicable.

General conditions from the notification
Candidates appointed shall be on probation for a total period of 2 years on duty within a continuous period of 3 years. They shall undergo in-service training and pass the Kerala Jail Subordinate Officers Test during the probation period. Applications of candidates other than SC/ST will be summarily rejected.
