Who can apply

Kerala PSC recruitment notification for the post of Assistant Prison Officer (Special Recruitment for ST only) in Prisons. Category No: 139/2017. Vacancies: Unit Wise (Thrissur Unit - ST only - 1 (One)). Scale of Pay: 20,000-45,800/-. Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment (Unit wise) (Special Recruitment from among Scheduled Tribes only). Applications must be submitted online on or before 05-07-2017 through Kerala PSC One Time Registration.

Age limit

18–41. Only Candidates born between 02.01.1976 and 01.01.1999 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. Note: In the absence of qualified candidates within the age limit, the upper age limit shall be relaxed upto 50 years. But in no case the maximum age limit shall exceed 50 (fifty) years. Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Pass in S.S.L.C or its equivalent qualification. Experience Required: None Physical Standards: Must be at least 160 cms height and must be 81.3 cms round the chest on full expiration and must have a chest expansion of 5 cms. Must be certified to possess the specified visual standards without glasses (Distant Vision: 6/6 snellen for both eyes, Near Vision: 0.5 snellen for both eyes, full field of vision, free from colour blindness, squint, or morbid condition). Must be free from apparent physical defects like knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, bow legs, deformed limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing. Must qualify in any five (5) events out of Eight (8) events of the National Physical Efficiency “One Star” Standard Test. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Part II Rule 10(a)ii of KS&SSR regarding qualification is applicable for this selection.

Paragraphs two, three and twenty five (except the conditions laid down in the Rule 3 (c) of Part II of the Kerala State and Subordinate Service Rules are not applicable to this selection. Every person appointed shall be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
