Who can apply

Kerala PSC recruitment notification for the post of Female Assistant Prison Officer (SR for ST only) in Prisons. Category No: 138/2017. Vacancies: Unit Wise (Thiruvananthapuram Unit: ST only - 1, Kannur Unit: ST only - 1). Scale of Pay: 20,000-45,800/-. Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment (Special Recruitment from among Women candidates of Scheduled Tribes only). Applications must be submitted online on or before 05-07-2017 through Kerala PSC One Time Registration.

Age limit

18 - 41. Only Candidates born between 02.01.1976 and 01.01.1999 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. In the absence of qualified candidates within the age limit, the upper age limit shall be relaxed upto 50 years. But in no case the maximum age limit shall exceed 50 (fifty) years. Qualifications

Educational Qualifications: • Pass in S.S.L.C or its equivalent qualification. Physical Standards: Must have at least 150 cms of height. Physical efficiency test: A candidate should qualify in any Five (5) events out of Eight (8) events specified of the National Physical Efficiency "One Star" Standard Test (100 Metres run - 17 seconds, High Jump - 1.06 metres, Long Jump - 3.05 metres, Putting the shot (weight of the shot 4 kgs) - 4.88 metres, 200 metres run - 36 seconds, Throwing the throw ball - 14 metres, Shuttle race (25x4 metres) - 26 seconds, Skipping (One minute) - 80 times). Eye Sight: Must be certified to possess visual standards without glasses (Distant Vision: 6/6 Snellen for both Right and Left Eye; Near Vision: 0.5 Snellen for both Right and Left Eye; Each eye must have full field of vision. Colour blindness, squint or any other morbid condition of the eyes or lids will be deemed to be a disqualification). Must be free from apparent physical defects like knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, bow legs, deformed limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Part II Rule 10(a)ii of KS&SSR regarding qualification is applicable for this selection.
