Kerala PSC recruitment notification for the post of I Grade Overseer / I Grade Draftsman (Civil) (Direct Recruitment from among Second Grade Overseers/Draftsman, Third Grade Overseers / Tracers, Clerks, Typist, Typist – Clerk and Confidential Assistants of Public Works Department Only) in Public Works Department. Category No: 02/2026. Vacancies: Anticipated. Scale of Pay: ₹ 37,400 – 79,000/-. Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment from among Second Grade Overseers/Draftsman, Third Grade Overseers / Tracers, Clerks, Typist, Typist – Clerk and Confidential Assistants of Public Works Department Only. Applications must be submitted online on or before 01-04-2026 through Kerala PSC One Time Registration.
Qualifications
Educational Qualifications:
• Diploma in Civil Engineering of the Kerala University or Diploma recognised by Government as equivalent thereto.
Experience Required:
In the case of Second Grade Overseers/Draftsman, Third Grade Overseers / Tracers, Clerks, Typist, Typist – Clerk and Confidential Assistants, they should have rendered not less than 2 years service in the respective categories in the Public Works Department.

Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules:
KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) (ii) is applicable for selection to this post. In addition to the qualifications specified in this notification, the qualifications declared by the Government as equivalent to the prescribed educational qualifications through executive Orders or by Standing Orders and the qualifications determined by the Commission as equivalent to the qualifications prescribed in the Special Rules and also higher qualifications of the prescribed qualifications of the basic qualification shall be accepted.

General conditions from the notification⌄
Candidates must be an approved probationer/full member of the subordinate service. Candidates working on a provisional basis are not eligible. Rules of reservation prescribed in Rule 14 to 17 of Part II of KS&SSR, 1958 is not applicable to the Departmental Quota. Probation period is two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
