Educational Qualifications: • A Degree in Zoology or Botany or Forestry or Veterinary Science from a University, Institution or Deemed University recognized by Government of India or Government of Kerala. Physical Standards: Male candidates must not be less than 168 cm in height and 81cm round the chest with 5cm expansion. Female candidates must not be less than 157cm in height. SC/ST male and female candidates: 160 cm and 150 cm respectively (chest expansion 5 cm for males). Male candidates must qualify any of five out of eight events in National Physical Efficiency One Star Standard for Men. Female candidates must qualify any of five out of nine events in National Physical Efficiency One Star Standard for Women. Medical standards: Ear - Hearing perfect; Eye - Distant vision 6/6 snellen, Near vision 0.5 snellen, Colour vision - Normal, Night blindness - Nil; Muscles and Joints - No paralysis and all joints with free movements; Nervous system - Perfectly normal, free from infectious diseases. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS & SSR Rule 10(a)(ii) Part II applicable. Candidates claiming equivalent qualification must produce relevant Government order at the time of verification.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
