18-26. Candidates born between 02.01.1997 and 01.01.2005 (both dates included) only are eligible to apply for this post. Upper age limit relaxed up to 29 years for OBC, 31 years for SC/ST, 41 years for Ex-servicemen, and up to 5 years for those who have horse riding experience in Indian Armed Forces/Central Armed Police Forces/National Police Academy or worked in Mounted Police Units of other States.

Educational Qualifications: • Must have passed Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent. Experience Required: Must have minimum one year experience in horse riding from a firm / Sports Club having registration under State / Central Government or State Sports Council / Sports Authority of India. Physical Standards: Height: Not less than 168 cm (161 cm for SC/ST). Chest: Not less than 81 cm with minimum expansion of 5 cm (76 cm with 5 cm expansion for SC/ST). Must qualify in any 5 events out of 8 items of the national physical efficiency one star standard test. Vision standards without glasses: Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen (Right & Left eye), Near Vision 0.5 Snellen (Right & Left eye). Full field of vision required. Color blindness, squint, or morbid condition of eyes/lids are disqualifications. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10 (a) (ii) of Part II of the KS&SSR is applicable.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
