Educational Qualifications: • Pass in Higher Secondary Education Examination (Plus Two) or its equivalent. Technical Qualifications: • Must possess current valid Driving Licence for Motor Cycle with Gear, Light Motor Vehicles, Heavy Passenger Vehicles and Heavy Goods Vehicles with Driver's Badge. • Proficiency in driving Light Motor Vehicles/Heavy Passenger Vehicles/Heavy Goods Vehicles, which is to be proved in a practical test conducted by Kerala Public Service Commission during the course of selection. Experience Required: This selection to the post is for Ex-servicemen (Military and Central Armed Police Forces) who worked as drivers in their service. Physical Standards: Height: Not less than 168 cm (161 cm for SC/ST). Chest: Not less than 81 cm with minimum 5 cm expansion (76 cm with 5 cm expansion for SC/ST). Must have sound health and be free from physical defects. Visual standards: Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision 0.5 Snellen for both eyes without glasses. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10 (a) (ii) of Part II of the KS&SSR is applicable. Higher qualifications of the notified and prescribed basic qualifications shall be accepted.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict.
