Age 23 - 40. Only candidates born between 02.01.1982 and 01.01.1999 (both dates are included) are eligible to apply for this post. Other Backward communities and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation.

Educational Qualifications: • Post-graduate Degree in Physics with not less than 50% marks awarded by any of the Universities in Kerala or an equivalent qualification. • B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject acquired after a regular course of study from any of the Universities in Kerala or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by a University of Kerala. Technical Qualifications: • Must have passed the State Eligibility Test for the post of Non-Vocational Teacher conducted by Government of Kerala or by the Agency authorized by the State Government. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 a(ii) is applicable.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
