18-36. Candidates born between 02.01.1983 and 01.01.2001 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. Usual age relaxation will be given to SC/ST and Other backward Communities. (In the case of candidates who were family planning voluntary workers, the maximum age shall be 45 years and in the case of Part Time Contingent employees upper age relaxation shall be given to the extent of their Part Time contingent service provided their age does not exceed superannuation limit.)

Educational Qualifications: • Should have passed standard VII and should not have acquired any graduation. Physical Standards: Candidates require good physique besides the general qualification for specific posts (Matron, Watch woman, Cleaner and Sewer cleaner, Gate keeper Gr.II and Lascar Gr.II) and candidates will be advised only after obtaining Medical Certificate issued by a Medical Officer in Govt. Service not below the rank of Assistant surgeon. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10 (a)(ii) of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable to selection to this post. Those who claim equivalent qualification shall produce the respective Government Order to prove the claim at the time of 'One Time Verification' or as required by the Commission.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
