18-26. Only candidates born between 02.01.1997 and 01.01.2005 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. Other Backward Communities, Scheduled Caste converts and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation as provided under sub rule (c) of the Rule 10 of the General rules. Other conditions regarding the age relaxation are not applicable to this post.

Educational Qualifications: • Pass in Plus Two or its equivalent. Physical Standards: Must be physically fit and possess minimum physical standards: General - Height: 165 cms, Weight: 50 Kgs, Chest: 81 cms, Chest Expansion: 5 cms; SC/ST - Height: 160 cms, Weight: 48 Kgs, Chest: 76 cms, Chest Expansion: 5 cms. Visual Standards (without glasses): Distant vision - 6/6 snellen (Right & Left Eye), Near vision - 0.5 snellen (Right & Left Eye), Field of Vision - Full. Swimming proficiency: 50 m swimming trial within two minutes and two minutes floating ability at the deeper side of the pool. Physical Efficiency Test: Must qualify in at least 5 out of 8 items of National One Star standard. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part-II Rule 10 (a) (ii) is applicable.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
