Educational Qualifications: • A pass in SSLC or its equivalent Technical Qualifications: • Must Possess current valid heavy Motor Driving License of 3 years standing with endorsement for driving Heavy Goods and Heavy Passenger Vehicles and Drivers badge. Experience Required: Applications are invited from among any category of persons in the last grade service in the excise department. Physical Standards: Must not be less than 165 cm in height and 83 cm round the chest with a minimum expansion of 4 cm. In the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe the minimum height shall be 160 cm. Ear: Hearing should be perfect. Eye: must be certified to possess specific standards without glasses (Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision 0.5 Snellen, Color Vision Normal, Night blindness Nil). Muscles and Joints: No Paralysis. All joints with free movement. Nervous system: Perfectly normal and free from any infectious diseases. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)ii of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
