Educational Qualifications: • Must have passed the Plus Two examination or its equivalent. Experience Required: Must be a member of the Last Grade Service in the Excise Department. Physical Standards: Male: Minimum height 162 cms. Female: Minimum height 152 cms. Must be free from apparent physical defects like knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, bow legs, deformed hands and limbs, irregular and protruding teeth, defective speech and hearing. Must possess specified visual standards (Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen, Near Vision 0.5 Snellen for both eyes without glasses). Must qualify in Endurance Test (2.5 km race) and National Physical Efficiency Test (5 out of 8 events). Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II KS & SSR is applicable. Candidates with equivalent qualifications must produce relevant Government orders at the time of verification.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
