Educational Qualifications: • Should have passed Standard VII or equivalent qualification • Should not have acquired graduation Experience Required: Should possess Experience certificate for not less than one year as 'Ayah' of children gained from a Government Institution or from any institution registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 (Central Act XXI of 1860) or the Travancore Cochin Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act 1955 (XII of 1955) or any institution run by the local bodies using Government grant or from any autonomous grant-in-aid institutions. Experience must be gained after acquiring the General Educational Qualification. Physical Standards: The post of Ayah in all the Departments shall be reserved exclusively for women candidates. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10 a (ii) of Part II KS&SSR is applicable. Candidates claiming equivalent qualification must produce the relevant Government Order to prove the equivalency at the time of verification.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
