(1) For Recruitment By-Transfer: No upper age limit is prescribed. (2) For Direct Recruitment: 22-40. Only candidates born between 02.01.1980 and 01.01.1998 (both dates included) are eligible to apply, with usual relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

By-transfer recruitment is open only to serving employees named in the notification.
Educational Qualifications: • Masters Degree in the concerned subject or discipline with at least 50% marks or its equivalent and good Academic records. • M.Ed Degree with not less than 55% marks. Technical Qualifications: • Must have passed the comprehensive test specifically conducted for the purpose by UGC or any agency duly constituted by the State Government in this behalf. Experience Required: Three years teaching experience in Schools or Colleges after acquiring the Professional qualification. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable. Candidates who claim equivalent qualification shall produce the relevant Government order to prove equivalency at the time of verification.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
