Educational Qualifications: • Graduation • In the case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates, if sufficient number of fully qualified candidates are not available, applications of those who have passed Pre University/Pre-Degree or equivalent Examinations of recognised University shall be considered only to fill up the quota reserved for them under Category (i). Physical Standards: Must be Physically fit. Height: 167 cm (Taller Persons will be given preference). Chest Measurement: 81 cm with minimum expansion of 5 cm. For SC/ST candidates: Height 160 cm, Chest 76 cm. Visual standards without glasses: Distant Vision 6/6 Snellen (Left & Right Eye), Near Vision 0.5 Snellen (Left & Right Eye). Must possess full field of vision without color blindness, squint, or morbid conditions. Must qualify Physical Efficiency Test (5 events out of 8). Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)ii of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable. Candidates claiming equivalent qualifications must produce the relevant government order at the time of certificate verification.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
