Educational Qualifications: • SSLC or its equivalent examination recognized by Government of India or Government of Kerala. Technical Qualifications: • Must have a valid motor driving license endorsed for all types of transport vehicles (LMV, HGMV & HPMV). Experience Required: Experience for not less than 3 years in driving motor vehicles, acquired after obtaining academic/basic qualifications. Physical Standards: Height: Minimum 168 cms (160 cms for SC candidates). Chest: Minimum 81 cms normal, 86 cms on expansion (5 cms expansion required, no relaxation in expansion for SC). Must qualify in any 5 events out of 8 in the National Physical Efficiency one star standard test. Perfect hearing, visual standards: Distant vision 6/6 Snellen for both eyes, Near vision 0.5 Snellen for both eyes, Normal colour vision, Nil night blindness, full field of vision without glass. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II KS & SSR is applicable. Candidates claiming equivalent qualification shall produce relevant Government order.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
