Technical Qualifications: • M.Phil Degree in Physics/Chemistry from a recognized University. Physical Standards: Must possess the following medical standards of vision without glasses or with glasses: Right Eye / Left Eye Distant Vision: 6/6 Snellen / 6/6 Snellen Near Vision: 0.5 Snellen / 0.5 Snellen Field of Vision: Full for each eye. Colour blindness will be treated as a disqualification. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part II Rule 10(a)ii is applicable. Government Orders recognizing equivalent qualifications / higher qualifications as basic qualifications shall be produced at the time of certificate verification.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
