Educational Qualifications: • Post Graduate Degree in Botany/Zoology with not less than 50% marks from a recognized University. Technical Qualifications: • M.Phil degree in Botany/Zoology from a recognized University. • Two years Research/Analytical experience in Botany/Zoology from a recognized institution. Experience Required: Two years Research/Analytical experience in Botany/Zoology from a recognized institution (Desirable qualification). Experience certificate in the prescribed format must be uploaded. Physical Standards: Candidates should possess sound health and specified standards of vision without glasses (Distant Vision: 6/6 Snellen for both eyes; Near Vision: 0.5 Snellen for both eyes; Full field of vision for each eye. Colour blindness is a disqualification). Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Part II - Rule 10(a)ii is applicable. Government Orders regarding equivalent/higher qualifications shall be produced.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
