Educational Qualifications: • Pass in Standard VII (Seventh) or equivalent. Technical Qualifications: • Must possess a current Driving Licence of Heavy Duty Vehicles (Military or Civil) with minimum 3 years experience in driving Heavy Duty Vehicles, and the licence must have endorsement for Heavy Goods and Heavy Passenger vehicles if obtained after 16.01.1979. Experience Required: Must be an Ex-Serviceman or from Territorial Army who have served in the Armed Forces. Practical test including T Test and Road test will be conducted by Kerala PSC. Physical Standards: Must be physically fit. Hearing: Perfect hearing. Vision: Right Eye (Distant: 6/6 Snellen, Near: 0.5 Snellen), Left Eye (Distant: 6/6 Snellen, Near: 0.5 Snellen). Colour vision, Night blindness standards apply. Full field of vision in each eye. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: KS&SSR Rule 10(a)(ii) is applicable.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
