Category i (Open Market): 20-31 (born between 02.01.1994 and 01.01.2005). Category ii (Ministerial) & iii (Constabulary): Should not have completed 36 years as on 01.01.2025. Relaxation in upper age limit as per Part II General conditions is applicable.

Educational Qualifications: • Graduation Experience Required: For Category ii: Two years of service in Police/Vigilance Department. For Category iii: Successfully completed probation as Police Constable/Head Constable/officers of corresponding rank in Police and Vigilance Department. Physical Standards: Should be physically fit. Male: Height 165.10 cm (SC/ST 160.02 cm), Chest 81.28 cm, Expansion 5.08 cm. Female: Height 160 cm (SC/ST 155 cm). Vision: Distant 6/6 Snellen, Near 0.5 Snellen for both eyes without glasses. Equivalence / KS&SSR Rules: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS & SSR is applicable. Higher qualifications and those declared equivalent by Government are accepted.

Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
