18-41. Only candidates born between 02/01/1973 and 01/01/1996 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. Provisional hands working in the above concern will be given age relaxation to the extent of their provisional service put in, subject to a maximum of five years from the upper age limit provided they are within the prescribed age limit on the date of their first appointment in the above concern.

Technical Qualifications: • ITI, Craftsman Certificate, Junior Technical School Certificate, or Certificate of technical educational institutions in specified trades • KGTE Certificate (Automobile) or KGCE in Automobile Engineering Physical Standards: Must be physically fit to do work of arduous nature. Kerala PSC gives the age limit as a range of birth dates, for example “18–36: only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included)”. Ages are counted on 1 January of the recruitment year, so an upper age of 36 in 2025 means you must be born on or after 2 January 1989. Relaxations move that earliest date back.
With relaxations, the upper age cannot go beyond 50.

Some notifications say relaxations do not apply, and the checker then uses the range as printed. By-transfer posts, special recruitments, NCA notifications and rules for widows are flagged with “Check the notification” instead of a verdict. The qualification guide compares levels only, not subjects. Always confirm in the official notification before you apply.
